For easy numbers if you take a Keyword that gets 1000 Search a month… And break that down between SEO and paid ads (PPC), here’s what it looks like…

PPC

  • PPC gets 15-20% of the leads
  • There are usually 7 ads per search page, so divide among all 7 ads on the page
  • Regardless of how much you spend, you get 1/7th about 20-30 leads per month
  • So whether you spend $100 or $1000 you still only get 1/7th of the leads.

SEO

  • SEO #1 organic position gets 40 - 45% of the leads
  • Which means you get 400-450 leads per month
  • More then 10x’s that of PPC

So which is of more value?

Stop beating yourself up - you’re not alone!

Last year on Quora a guy called Brandon asked readers what their biggest frustration with SEO was… that post received 2.9m views and 1,000 replies… Why?

Because trying to get a website to rank for keywords organically is really, really difficult.

And when you nail it, it works.. But, when was the last time you nailed it?

How does the average business owner have time to keep up with all the steps needed to rank?

That’s why outsourcing it is the best option… Let the expert worry about it so you can focus on servicing all the leads you get from it.

  • SEO (long term, least expensive, but takes time)
  • PPC (short term, fastest, but expensive, need cash)

Which Provides You the Better Value?

Well, the stats show the majority of the clicks come from SEO.

Don't get me wrong, there are certainly times to use PPC - like when you're first launching your company, it's a great way to get your name out there fast. Or for a limited time offer or special event, PPC is an effective way to get exposure that SEO wouldn't have time to contribute to.

But, if you stop paying it stops as well... On the other hand, SEO finds you active seekers who are looking for your product or services... and they can find you 24/7 on autopilot!

Organizations of all sizes are realizing the importance of online marketing, especially through search engines. Nowadays, people are more likely to end up on your website via a search engine than going directly to it.
