He has roots that run deep in the Inland Northwest with generations of his mothers side of the family being born and raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and his father's side of the family in Spokane, Washington.
Greg is an author, educator and small business owner.
He believes strongly in the entrepreneur spirit and the role that small business plays in our local and national economy and enjoys helping others achieve success in small business.
Greg has grown up with a heritage of small business and entrepreneurship in his family with both of his Great Grandfathers having owned their own small business. His great grandfather on his mothers side was a tailor in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and his fathers side a realtor in Washington and later a rancher in Montana.
Greg's grandfathers both started automotive related businesses in the Inland Northwest with his grandfather (Ed) on his mothers side opening a Texaco Service Station in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and his grandfather (Homer) on his fathers side starting Rouse's Body Shop in Spokane, WA.
Later, Greg's father (Steve) took over the family business and expanded it by starting Rouse's Towing and Hauling, Payless Auto Painting and Spokane Salvage Pool.
Not to be left behind, Greg started his first small business in Spokane called the Athlete's Arena. After having pursued a career in professional football, Greg decided to open an athletic training and fitness facility that included everything from boxing and kickboxing, a rock climbing wall, and ploymetircs equipment to the largest selection of power lifting and Hammer Strength equipment in the Inland Northwest.
Greg also went on to pursue his passion for teaching. He has been a former Physical Education and Outdoor Recreation professor at various local Colleges and Universities including Eastern Washington University, University of Idaho and North Idaho College where he was a Tenured faculty member.
He has a Master's Degree in Physical Education/Pedagogy along with degrees, endorsements and certifications in other related fields such as Outdoor Recreation, Search and Rescue, Emergency Response and Coaching.
He has guided professionally and has been an EMT, Wilderness-EMT and a First Responder Instructor.
Over the years he’s taught such classes as entrepreneurship and leadership, physical education and emergency response to whitewater guiding, mountaineering and wilderness survival. He's also coached and given numerous presentations and seminars in these fields and others.
Finally in 1999, realizing the potential of the Internet and the opportunity it presented entrepreneurs, Greg started his first online business - www.WildernessTrip.com. This business started him on a path of self-study and Internet entrepreneurship that has led to numerous online properties and extensive experience in Online Marketing.
Of course, not forgetting the role that small business plays in America and having a passion for teaching, along with an understanding of the sharp learning curve he's had to go through over the years, Greg now wants to share his years of experience and knowledge with others.
Greg currently does small business consulting, speaking and owns numerous Internet properties with various products and services.
"My mission is to spend time teaching and developing new resources to help individuals and small businesses be more successful, independent and self-reliant!"
